Left-Handed on Computer Mouse and Keyboard

We all know that ever since most things invented are designed in favor of right-handed people. But this doesn't mean we left-handed persons can't benefit and use these things, we can even use these for our own advantage over the others.

On computers, there is an option to use mouse in left-handed orientation. Though there are modern designs with functionality in favor for right-handed but generally the design is neutral for both orientation. Computer keyboards on the other hand are designed for right-handed. There are some generous people who designed it for left-handed but these are not available most of the time. For example, laptops, netbooks, and desktop packages includes regular or right-handed keyboards only. And if you go to cafes and rent a computer, there is no chance you can get a keyboard especially designed for us left-handed.

The solution to this issue is to adopt like we did in most things. If you are new to computers and you are left-handed or teaching a left-handed kid, I encourage you to use regular keyboard and a right-hand oriented mouse. I swear, there are advantages for us left-handed once get use to it. I have proven it because I am a real left-handed. Learning is easy just like a right-handed learner.

The advantages are real. Most helpful shortcut keys and combinations are on the left hand side of the keyboard. Since our left-hand is dominant, accessing and using these keys much convenient and quicker. This is very helpful in typing, editing, designing, and much more.

Personally, I really feel the convenience. I frequently edit pictures and create graphics for my work and hobby. It is fairly easy, my right does the mouse manipulation while the left does all the shortcut keys to quicken the tasks such as duplicating, copying and pasting, and a lot more.
